Wheel Alignment

A wheel alignment is when the angle of the wheels is adjusted so that they are set to the car maker’s specification. The purpose of these adjustments is to keep the wheels parallel to each other, perpendicular to the road and their respective axels to provide the least rolling resistance, friction and tyre wear.

A few things knock your wheels out of alignment over time: driving over potholes, curb impacts, driving on rough roads, and general wear and tear.

A few benefits of having a wheel alignment

1. Reduced tyre wear

Improper alignment is a significant cause of premature tyre wear. We suggest wheel alignment after getting new tyres, together with the “good” tyres on your car. Over the years, a properly aligned vehicle can add thousands of kilometres to tyre life.

2. Improved Handling

  • Does your car pull to one side?
  • Does the steering wheel vibrate?
  • Do you constantly have to move the steering wheel to keep your car travelling straight ahead?

A wheel alignment can correct many handling problems. Road shocks can be absorbed efficiently for a smoother ride when system components are correctly aligned.

3. Safer Driving

A suspension system inspection is part of our alignment check. It allows us to spot worn parts before they cause costly problems.

You lose more than just tyre tread if you fail to keep your vehicle properly aligned. Many suspension parts such as tie rods, shocks, struts, and springs can also begin to wear due to a misaligned vehicle, which can eventually cause a costly repair bill.
