BRAKE SERVICE & REPAIRS

There are a number of factors that contribute to your car’s stopping power. Your brakes, tyres and suspension must be in good working order to maintain control under emergency braking situations. KarPro Tyre & Auto can service, maintain and repair brakes on all car makes and models.

When did you have your brakes checked last?

The brakes go through constant wear and tear every time the pedal is applied. Worn out brakes shoes or brake pads can result in damage to the brake drums and rotors (discs). If the brake friction material wears down too far, it can cause the brakes to overheat and decrease the braking ability significantly.

A spongy brake pedal feel or a sinking brake pedal feel may be the result of failing brake components. At this point the vehicle needs to be immediately checked by a mechanic to diagnose the reason. Karpro technicians have been trained to inspect and repair all brake components for a safe roadworthy vehicle.

A high quality brake fluid is also vital for the safe operation of your braking system. Let the experts at KarPro inspect the entire braking system for any wear and tear or leakages or perhaps any other issues that may lead to a malfunction.

Remember, regular brake inspections should be part of your vehicle’s ongoing maintenance, helping to ensure its safety and reliability. In fact, we recommend that you have them inspected at least once a year, or if you experience any of the following:

  • Continuously squealing or grinding brakes
  • Low or spongy brake pedal
  • Brake warning light that stays on

Any time you notice these symptoms (or any others), it’s a good idea to have your brakes checked. At KarPro, if our inspection reveals they do require repair, we will explain exactly what’s required, what’s optional and provide you with a written estimate before any work is done.

ABS System

Car brakes

Anti-lock braking system (ABS) is an automobile safety system that allows the wheels on a motor vehicle to continue interacting with the road surface as directed by driver steering inputs while braking, preventing the wheels from locking up, and therefore avoiding skidding.

An ABS system generally offers improved vehicle control and decreases stopping distances on dry and slippery surfaces. On loose surfaces like gravel or snow-covered roads, an ABS system can significantly improve braking distance, while still improving vehicle control.

From the brake pedal to hydraulic brake fluid, brake master cylinder to power brake booster, drum brakes to disc brakes and electronic anti-lock brake sensors, KarPro technicians know every part of your brake system inside and out.

All vehicles, including trailers, caravans and motorcycles, which are driven or towed on NSW roads, must be registered. KarPro is an authorised RMS Inspection Station
